Recorder of Liverpool explained
The recorder of Liverpool or, since 1971, the honorary recorder of Liverpool is an ancient legal office in the City of Liverpool, England. The recorder is appointed by the Council, by virtue of section 54 of the Courts Act 1971. The recorder of Liverpool is customarily also a senior circuit judge of the Liverpool Crown Court in the North West Circuit, although the City may choose to appoint any duly qualified Judge to the role.[1] They are addressed in court as "My Lord" or "My Lady", if also a senior circuit judge.[2]
