Rachel "Bunny" Meyer[1] (born August 3, 1985)[2] is an American beauty YouTuber known by the username grav3yardgirl.

Early life

Meyer graduated from Friendswood High School in 2003. She has recounted her high school experiences, being involved mostly in theatre, but also being a member of FFA, debate, student council, and the French National Honors Society.[3] She met her current boyfriend, who she refers to as Dogman, during her sophomore year. Meyer originally was pursuing a career in the fashion industry, attending three colleges - Texas Woman's University, San Jacinto College, and the University of Houston, which she graduated from in 2007. Meyer also said that she's never drank alcohol, smoked tobacco or marijuana, or engaged in drug use. Meyer broke her hand in a car accident in 2010, which left her unable to pursue a career in the fashion industry. As an alternative, she created her YouTube channel in 2010 to channel her trauma in a positive way.[4]

YouTube channel

Based in Pearland, Texas, Meyer started her YouTube channel in December 2010 and mainly made videos about paranormal experiences and trips to graveyards.[5] She later transitioned her channel to focus on fashion and makeup, as well as a series called Does This Thing Really Work? in which she reviews As Seen On TV products.[6] Meyer refers to her followers as her "Swamp Family".[7]

, she has over 8.5 million subscribers and 1.8 billion video views.

Collaborations

In May 2018, Shane Dawson reached out to Bunny when she was struggling with maintaining an audience and helped re-brand her channel during his documentary-style web series.[8]

Makeup collection

On June 6, 2016, Meyer released her makeup collection Swamp Queen globally in collaboration with Tarte Cosmetics. The collection was sold at several leading cosmetics stores, such as Macy's, Ulta and Sephora, and included an eyeshadow palette and two lipsticks.[9]

Awards and nominations

In 2014, Meyer was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards for Choice Web Star: Fashion/Beauty, but lost to Zoe Sugg.[10] She received a second nomination in 2016, but lost to Bethany Mota.[11]
