Babinets (Czech: Babinec, Polish: Babiniec,[1] Russian: Бабинец , Ukrainian: Бабинець[2]) is a compartment in some Slavic churches, historically intended for women.[3] [4] The term derives from the Slavic word baba, "woman".[5]
