Zhamantuz (Kazakh: Жамантұз) is a salt lake in the Aksu City Administration, Pavlodar Region, Kazakhstan.[1]

The lake lies 50km (30miles) to the southwest of Aksu city. The area surrounding the lake is used for livestock grazing in the spring.[2]

Geography

Zhamantuz is an endorheic lake of the northern end of the Kazakh Uplands. It lies at an elevation of 123.5m (405.2feet). The Irtysh flows 60km (40miles) to the east of the eastern shores of the lake.[1]

There are a number of lakes in its vicinity, such as Kudaikol 23km (14miles) to the northwest, Altybaysor 22km (14miles) to the southeast and Kalkaman, 33km (21miles) to the northeast.[2] [3] [4]
