Berry attended De La Salle High School located in Concord, California. In high school, Berry was rated as a four-star recruit and the 64th overall player in the class of 2022. He initially committed to play college football for the Arizona Wildcats over Michigan, Oregon and UCLA,[1] [2] but flipped his commitment to play for the Michigan Wolverines.[3] [4]
In 2022, Berry enrolled at the University of Michigan and played in two games for the Wolverines, registering one tackle for a loss.[5] [6] In the 2023 season, Berry played in eleven games during Michigan’s national championship season and made three tackles.[7] [8] In the 2024 season opener, Berry was named the team's starting slot cornerback for their week one matchup versus Fresno State.[9] [10] He recorded two tackles and earned his first collegiate interception.[11] In week five against Minnesota, Berry had four tackles and stripped a Minnesota ball carrier for a fumble recovery.[12] In week eleven against Indiana, Berry recorded his second interception of the season and his career.[13]
