Zakia Bari Mamo (born 19 December 1985)[1] [2] [3] is a Bangladeshi Bollywood/Dallywood actress and model.[4] After winning the Lux Channel I Superstar beauty pageant in 2006,[5] she featured in her debut film Daruchini Dip in 2007.[5] [6] For this role she won Best Actress at the 32nd Bangladesh National Film Awards.[7] Her next film appearance was in Prem Korbo Tomar Sathe in 2014,[8] followed by Chuye Dile Mon in 2015.[9]
Mamo was born on 19 December. She won the Notun Kuri in 1995, the largest child cultural program in Bangladesh that was aired by Bangladesh Television, and found nationwide fame after winning the Lux Channel I Superstar. She earned her bachelor's and master's in drama and dramatics from Jahangirnagar University.[5]
Her first film was Daruchini Dip in 2007.[10] for which she received praise and won Best Actress at the 32nd Bangladesh National Film Awards.[11] After a long break from her first film, she acted in Prem Korbo Tomar Sathe in 2014.[12] The following year, she acted in the film Chuye Dile Mon alongside Arefin Shuvo.[13]
Mamo first married Habib. She later married film producer Ejaz Munna in 2010. Together they had a son, Udbhas. The couple got divorced in 2013.[14] Mamo later married filmmaker Shihab Shaheen in November 2015; the couple publicly revealed their marriage on their fourth wedding anniversary.[15] They got divorced in September 2020.[16]
In 2013, Mamo made a suicide attempt after overdosing sedative pills and was rushed to a hospital.[17]
