The station consists of one side platform serving a single bi-directional track. There is no station building, but only a large weather shelter. The station is unattended.
Yudamura Station was opened on 21 July 1914 as the . It was upgraded to a full passenger station on 1 September 1933. With the privatization of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR West.
In fiscal 2019, the station was used by an average of 842 passengers daily.[2]
