"Your Name Engraved Herein" (刻在我心底的名字) is the theme song of the Taiwanese gay movie of the same name, sung by Taiwanese singer Crowd Lu, and was released by Team Ear Music (添翼創越工作室) on August 25, 2020, as an online download. Crowd Lu was invited by the film's producer Qu Youning (瞿友寧) to perform the song, and this is Crowd Lu's third movie theme song. The song is lyrical in nature, and its lyrics extend the unspoken feelings of the two protagonists in the movie, making people associate the song with first love.
As of June 2023, "Your Name Engraved Herein" has received more than 64 million views on YouTube and has reached the weekly number one spot on KKBOX's Chinese charts in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan, as well as the top ten spot on the annual cumulative charts. The song has been covered many times since its release, including by Hao-Sen Chen, one of the main stars of the movie "Your Name Engraved Herein", as well as by singers such as Waa Wei, William Wei, Eric Chou, Hebe Tien, Lala Hsu and Jolin Tsai, and bands such as Mayday. The song was sung by Crowd Lu and Chen Hao Sen at the 57th Golden Horse Awards, where it won the Best Original Movie Song award. The song also won the "Song of the Year" award at the 32th Golden Melody Awards.
After the classic song "He-R" (魚仔) and "You Complete Me" (幾分之幾), he was invited by Qu Youning (producer of the movie "Your Name Engraved Herein".[1]) to sing the theme song of the same movie for the third time.[2] He said he seldom sings songs he didn't write himself, so this is a rare opportunity for him to collaborate. He said he has always believed that "there is no framework for love",[3] and after watching the movie, he felt very touched by the scenes of students' youthful love in the movie, which reminded him of his past, so he agreed to be the singer of the song.[4] [5]
The music video was uploaded to YouTube by Team Ear Music on August 24, 2020, and as of May 2022, the music video has been viewed 56 million times on YouTube.
"Your Name Engraved Herein" is a sentimental ballad song[6] with lyrics and music by Xu Yuanting (許媛婷), Jiawang (佳旺) and Chen Wenhua (陳文華). The Malaysian songwriter, Jiawang, said that he was initially invited by the record company, so he asked Chen Wenhua to join him in writing the song, and then left it to Xu Yuanting to write the lyrics.[7] The song is written in the key of B-flat major, with 136 beats per minute[8] and a total length of 5 minutes and 42 seconds. The lyrics of the song extend the unspoken feelings of the two protagonists in the movie, as if they are murmuring to someone they miss at night, and the line "If you decide to fall in love once, you'll be in love forever" reminds us of that pure first love, where you fall in love and then you are desperate, as if you only have the other person in your eyes. The last verse of the song was sung by Lu Guangzhong, who later said that when he sang the verse, he "imagined that there was an object in his heart, a name engraved in his heart, and he sang deeply to her".

On August 28, 2021, Jacky Wu (吳宗憲) attended an event where he questioned the fact that "Your Name Engraved Herein" was not an original work and was allegedly copied from Richard Sanderson's song "Reality". Some netizens also pointed out that the intro of the song is exactly the same as Chinese musician JINBAO's piano song "Freedom's Hill" (自由が丘).[10] The next day, some netizens pointed out that the song was even more similar to the 2015 Japanese hymn "Omo wa warera no taiyō" (主は我らの太陽).[11]
In response to Jacky Wu's query, Qu Youning, the producer of the movie "Your Name Engraved Herein", took to Facebook on the 29th of the same month to express his innocence, saying that he is only the singer of the song but he is being criticized by the public, while Team Ear Music (添翼創越工作室) responded that after comparing the two songs, they believe that the two songs have some differences. Warner Music Taiwan, which owns the copyright of the song "Your Name Engraved Herein", also released a statement in the afternoon of the same day through its attorney, Jasper Hsu, stating that the song was originally written by the authors, Xu Yuanting, Jiawang, and Chen Wenhua, and that the song is not a plagiarism. Jia Wang, one of the co-composers of "Your Name Engraved Herein", responded on Facebook in the early hours of the 30th that "Your Name Engraved Herein" is an original work, and said that the melody of the lyrics, which is only "stubbornly confronting the world" (Chinese: 曾頑固跟世界對峙), is similar to that of "Reality", and he had only heard the song "Freedom's Hills" for the first time on the 29th.[12]
On the 29th of the same month, JINBAO responded to the plagiarism controversy by saying that the melody of "Your Name Engraved Herein" is similar to that of "Freedom's Hills", "The front of the song is indeed quite similar. However, in pop songs, there are a few lines that are similar, and it's normal for the chorus to be the same." And JINBAO responded to the plagiarism controversy by saying, "The first part is really similar. The Ministry of Culture and the Executive Committee of the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, which are responsible for awarding Golden Melody Awards and Golden Horse Awards to the songs, said that "Your Name Engraved Herein" had not been legally judged to have copyright disputes, and that it would not be disqualified from winning the awards.[13] 30 March, the original singer of "Reality", Richard Sanderson, replied to Dcard's private message about the plagiarism controversy, saying, "Apart from the fact that the two choruses are a little bit similar, but I can't say for sure that there is any plagiarism problem except for the two choruses which are slightly similar", and said that "The Name Etched in My Heart" is "a very good song"[14]
