Xuexiang National Forest Park, is a national forest park in Changting township, Hailin, Heilongjiang, China.[1] [2] The Xuexiang National Forest Park occupies a large area that includes both the China Snow Town and a vast underdeveloped forest preservation area that surrounds the central touristic town.[3]
The national forest park is established in 1948. In October 2010, it has been categorized as an AAAA level tourist site by the China National Tourism Administration.[4]
During the winter solstice of 2017 and 2018, a cheating incident occurred in Xuexiang. On December 29, 2017, the WeChat public account Yimumu published an article "No matter how white the snow in Xuexiang is, it can't cover up the pure black heart!" Don't go to Xuexiang again!", tells the story of the author and his party who encountered hotel fraud and malicious rip-off of guests while visiting Xuexiang.[5] [6] Subsequently, a video of robbing passengers was circulated on the Internet, in which the tour guide cursed and threatened passengers to buy package tickets. On the 29th, the Dahailin Forestry and Tourism Bureau issued a statement announcing its involvement in the investigation; on January 3, 2018, the Dahailin Forestry and Tourism Bureau announced the results of the investigation, punished and ordered the B&Bs involved to rectify, saying that ripping off customers was only an isolated case, but it also claimed that Any untrue parts of the original news will be resolved through legal means. Once the survey results were announced, they immediately became a hot topic of online public opinion. Many netizens had a negative attitude towards it, and triggered discussions on the Internet and in the media on related topics such as customer rip-off, regional discrimination, and the business environment in Northeast China. The incident also prompted a response from China's National Development and Reform Commission, which said the government should safeguard the business environment and consumer rights.
Snow falls every October to April of next year.
The China Snow Town, inside the Xuexiang National Forest Park, was used for location filming of the 2013 reality TV show Where Are We Going, Dad?.[7]
