Xing-Wang Deng is a plant biologist. His study focus on two areas, one is the genetic and biochemical mechanism for light regulated seedling development in Arabidopsis, another is using genome-wide association study to understand genome basis of the plant heterosis. He was elected a fellow of American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) in 2012[1] and a member of National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in 2013.[2]
