The XFL Championship Game is the annual championship game for the XFL at the end of its season in order to determine its league winner for that season. It began in 2023 and has continued ever since, usually taking place in the second week of May. Its successor is the XFL Conference Championship, a contest in the United Football League.
The XFL Championship was awarded to one of the league's home stadiums several months in advance, following the lead of other professional championships such as the Super Bowl and Grey Cup; the UFL has continued that strategy,[1] as opposed to its merger partner the USFL, which held all of its playoffs at a neutral site. As a conference championship, the game is held at the home stadium of the team with the best regular season record in the XFL Conference.
