Wizard Reef (French: Récif Wizard) is a coral reef in the Farquhar Group in the Outer Islands of the Seychelles. It is 6700NaN0 southwest of the capital, Victoria, on Mahé Island.
Wizard Reef was named after Fairfax Moresby's ship Wizard, which visited the reef in 1822.[1]
Wizard Reef is roughly elliptical. It measures 1.7km (01.1miles) east-to–west and 1.2km (00.7miles) north-to–south, covering an area of about 1.6km2. The land mass is barely 0.02km2. It is barely above water, as the sea breaks heavily over it.[2] The reef's islet is in the western half. The location is 410NaN0 north of the northern tip of Providence Atoll.[3]
Wizard Reef belongs to Outer Islands District.[4]
The islet has many hawksbill turtles nesting.[5]
