Wiedeville is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Texas, United States. It is located within the Greater Houston metropolitan area.

History

Wiedes Store was the previous name for Wiedeville. It was at its prime from the 1880s to the early 1900s before experiencing a decline during the Great Depression. The majority of the population has been German-American. The Immanuel Lutheran Church serves as the hub of the community. Although there were no available population statistics in 2004, Wiedeville was still recognized as a community.

Geography

Wiedeville is located one mile from Farm to Market Road 50 and 5miles northeast of Brenham in central Washington County. It is also on Farm to Market Road 66.[1]

Education

Today, the community is served by the Brenham Independent School District.
