"When You Get to the Heart" is a song written by Tony Brown, Wayland Holyfield, and Norro Wilson and recorded by American country music group The Oak Ridge Boys on their 1983 studio album Deliver. In 1985, American country music singer Barbara Mandrell recorded a version for her studio album Get to the Heart and it was released in March 1986 as the third and final single from the album. Mandrell's version features backing vocals from the Oak Ridge Boys.
