West Clarkston-Highland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Asotin County, Washington, United States. It is part of the Lewiston, ID-WA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,488 at the 2020 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.9 km), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 4,707 people, 1,994 households, and 1,328 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1763.5sp=usNaNsp=us. There were 2,160 housing units at an average density of 809.2sp=usNaNsp=us. The racial makeup of the CDP was 94.99% White, 0.17% African American, 1.44% Native American, 0.51% Asian, 0.81% from other races, and 2.08% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.00% of the population.
There were 1,994 households, out of which 28.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.8% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.4% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was 2.81.
In the CDP, the age distribution of the population shows 23.8% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 17.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
