The West Augusta Football Club, nicknamed the Hawks, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Port Augusta West, South Australia that was founded in 1915. West Augusta has fielded a men's team in the Spencer Gulf Football League. (SGL) since 1961, and a women's team in the SGL Women's Competition (SGLW). The Club and Home Ground are located in Port Augusta West, South Australia.
West Augusta was formed in 1915 as the team representing Port Augusta in the SGL. They are currently owned by the Spencer Gulf Football League(SGL). They played their first season in 1961 and finished in 9th place, The men's team won 1969, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1996, 2005 and 2013 Grand Finals. It also fields a reserve side in the Spencer Gulf Football League Seconds (SGL Seconds), who are current premiers in the reserve league after beating Solomontown reserves side in the 2023 SGL Reserves Grand Final.
The 2024 A grade side is being coached by former captain and current player Michael Curley for the second year running as a playing coach, while new co-captains were announced with Charlie Ryan and Kayden Bejah getting the top job for a second year in a row with Richard Hobbs stepping down as captain. The club has had list changes going into 2024 with some of their senior players leaving the club, Aaron Toome left the club and move to Adelaide, Toome won the 2021 B Grade Dyson Medal. Premiership player Tye Starkey-Treloar left the club joining Port Pirie Side Solomontown. Ethan Walker left the club to join rivalry team Central Augusta, Walker played A-Grade for West at the Start of the year Before Injuring his ankle, after recovering he played in the B grade side to win a premiership against sollies, Walker had previously won the Under 15s leading goalkicker for the club and league in 2018 with over 60 goals to his name. The Club had also gained new and former players to the Club, with William Milera join the club after leaving the club to play for Souths, but has decided to come back to his original team in West, Milera was B grade premiership player for West Augusta in 2019 against Prop/Risdon. Other ins where Todd Coulthard (Central Augusta) and Fraser Sinkinson (Weeroona Bay) joined the Club.

The West Augusta Football Club adopted the purple and white colours for its uniform and was admitted to the Port Augusta Football Association on 3 April 1915 .
The choice of purple and white as the club's colours was initially suggested by West Side school teacher Mr. Sydney Mills, a Christian Brothers Old Collegian, who prevailed upon those present at the first meeting to adopt the colours of his old school in Adelaide.
