Wendy Cadge Explained

Wendy Cadge (born) is an American sociologist and academic administrator. On July 1, 2024, she became the 10th president of Bryn Mawr College, succeeding Kimberly Wright Cassidy.

Life

Cadge was born in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.[1] She received a B.A. in religion, sociology, and anthropology from Swarthmore College in 1997.[2] She earned a M.A. (2000) and Ph.D. (2002) in the department of sociology at Princeton University.

Cadge worked at Bowdoin College. She completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. Before becoming president at Bryn Mawr, Cadge was on the faculty at Brandeis University for eighteen years, becoming the Barbara Mandel Professor of the Humanistic Social Sciences, dean of the graduate school of arts and sciences, and a professor of sociology.

Cadge and her wife have two children.
