Waterbury is a village in Dixon County, Nebraska, United States. It is part of the Sioux City, IA - NE - SD Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 73 at the 2010 census.
Waterbury was established in 1890 when the railroad was extended to that point.[3] Waterbury derives its name from a spring which once provided water for water station.[4]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.14sqmi, all land.[5]
As of the census[6] of 2010, there were 73 people, 29 households, and 21 families living in the village. The population density was 521.4PD/sqmi. There were 47 housing units at an average density of 335.7/sqmi. The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.4% of the population.
There were 29 households, of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.6% were married couples living together, 3.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 10.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 27.6% were non-families. 24.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 2.86.
The median age in the village was 44.5 years. 21.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.9% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 21.9% were from 25 to 44; 35.5% were from 45 to 64; and 13.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 56.2% male and 43.8% female.
