Volvarina avenella explained

Volvarina avenella is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Marginellidae, the margin snails.

Taxonomy

Dall considered Marginella avenella a synonym of Marginella succinea Conrad, 1846 (now considered a synonym of Prunum succineum (Conrad, 1846)). These are actually two different species. He recognized this mistake afterwards. [1] [2]

Description

This species occurs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Distribution

Volvarina avenella can be found in Caribbean waters, ranging from the Florida Keys to Cuba.[3]
