Volovsky District (Russian: Воло́вский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the eighteen in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 796km2.[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Volovo. Population: 16,374 (2002 Census); The population of Volovo accounts for 26.2% of the district's total population.
