Veo cómo cantas (English: italics=yes|I see how you sing)[1] is a Spanish television mystery music game show series based on the South Korean programme I Can See Your Voice. It aired on Antena 3 from 8 September 2021[2] [3] to 16 September 2022, for two seasons.
Presented with a group of nine "mystery singers" identified only by their occupation, a guest artist and contestant must attempt to eliminate bad singers from the group without ever hearing them sing, assisted by clues and a celebrity panel over the course of six rounds. At the end of the game, the last remaining mystery singer is revealed as either good or bad by means of a duet between them and one of the guest artists.[4] [5]
The contestant must eliminate one mystery singer at the end of each round, receiving if they eliminate a bad singer. At the end of the game, the contestant may either end the game and keep the money they had won in previous rounds, or risk it for a chance to double its winnings by correctly guessing whether the last remaining mystery singer is good or bad. If the singer is bad, the contestant's winnings is given to the bad singer instead.
The guest artist and contestant are given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
Each mystery singer performs a lip sync to a song; good singers mime to a recording of their own, while bad singers mime to a recording by someone else.
The mystery singer lip syncs to the good singer's recording, then a bad singer's recording comes in the middle of the performance.
The guest artist and contestant are presented with a video package containing possible clues by one of the mystery singers.
The guest artist and contestant must describe one of the mystery singer's other talents, except "singing" itself. This may not be related to the "stage of truth", but depends on their identity.
The guest artist and contestant are presented with video from a recording session by one of the mystery singers of their choice, but pitch-shifted to obscure their actual vocals.
The guest artist and contestant may ask questions to the remaining mystery singers. Good singers are required to give truthful responses, while the bad singers must lie.
Following the successful broadcasts of The Masked Singer, Atresmedia formally acquired the rights to produce a local adaptation of I Can See Your Voice in Spain in November 2020, including with production duties assigned by Warner Bros. International Television Production.[6] [7]
Filming of the show took place at a unspecified location in Madrid.[8] [9]
Veo cómo cantas debuted on 8 September 2021.[2] [3] Despite the poor reception in its first season,[10] the series went on to renew anyway for a second season[11] [12] that premiered on 29 July 2022,[5] [13] a week after the seventh season finale of La Voz Kids.[14]
The series has a panel of celebrities who assist the guest artist(s) to decipher mystery singers' identities throughout the game. Alongside with mainstays, guest panelists also appear since the first season. Overall, 4 different members have been assigned, with the original lineup being,, Ruth Lorenzo, and Ana Milán.
