Vemundvik[2] is a village in Namsos Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located along the sea shore, about north of the town of Namsos and about east of the village of Ramsvika. Vemundvik Church is located in the village.

The village of Vemundvik was the administrative centre of the old Vemundvik Municipality from 1838 until 1941, when the municipal administration moved to the nearby town of Namsos.[3]

Name

The village (originally the parish) is named after the old Vemundvik farm (non|Vémundarvík) since the first Vemundvik Church was built there. The first element is an old male name Norwegian: Vémundr or the more modern version, Vemund. The last element is which means "bay" or "inlet".[4]
