Velankanni railway station (station code: VLNK) is an NSG–5 category Indian railway station in Tiruchirappalli railway division of Southern Railway zone.[1] It is a terminal station in Velankanni town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
It belongs to the Tiruchirappalli railway division of the Southern Railway zone in Nagapattinam district in Tamil Nadu.[2]
It lies at the end of a long Nagapattinam–Velankanni broad-gauge line. The foundation stone of the line was laid in 1999 and it was completed in 2010 at a cost of .[3] The station belongs to the Tiruchirappalli railway division of Southern Railway zone.
