The Universal Engineering College (UEC) is a private engineering college functioning under the management of the Universal Educational Trust. College was started in 2011 by a group of successful industrialists and business personalities to contribute to the society and its development realising that only Education can transform the society for a better living. UEC is situated in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur District of Kerala, India. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi, and affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala (APJAKTU). UEC is registered under the trust for the purpose of conducting various programs in engineering courses and related research activities.[1] [2] [3]
The campus is known for its discipline, well equipped laboratories, well qualified and experienced faculty members with the best administration and governance. Other salient features of UEC are syllabus supplements, platforms for skills and gap bridging, healthy teacher – student relationships, mentoring, Forums for social outreach, community involvement etc. In a very short time span UEC has carved a niche among the student community by its excellent results in University examinations, student friendly campus with a perfect blend of innovation and research.
Universal Engineering College is situated at Vallivattom near Vellangallur, Irinjalakuda alongside the Thrissur-Kodungallur state highway. The Campus sprawling over 10.14 acres of scenic landscape near the historical Muzris land, has been laid out to create a unique learning environment.
Institution has a very large library with an area over 400 m2 and with more than 15000 books comprising both Indian and international authors. Newspapers and previous university question papers are also available. Books are classified as per Dewey decimal classification scheme for easy access. The library is fully automated using the software called KOHA to help in searching availability of books and details of transactions of students in the library. 60 seats are arranged in reference section. Browsing, printing and photocopying facilities are provided in the library. UEC have a digital library with 40 computers for providing the staffs and students to learn at their own comfort and convenience. Students can access and read the eBooks and E-journals using the digital library.
