The United States hosted at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, from 15–24 July 2022, marking the first ever track & field world championship in the U.S. The selection meet for these championships was the 2022 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Team members were announced on July 5.[1]

The United States won the first ever title of "World Team Champions", a trophy inaugurated by the IAAF during this championships.
