Undocumented is a 2016 drama short film directed by Chris Cashman and written by Cashman and Michael Pancer. The film stars Victoria Truscott, Shane P. Allen, Cristyn Chandler and Jesse Keller.
In 2020, a young woman's family of undocumented immigrants is deported under the reign of the President of the United States.
Producer Enrique Morones says that Undocumented discusses the topic of deportations in the United States if Donald Trump were elected president.[1] The setting of the film takes place in 2020,[2] following three years of deportations[3] and its purpose was to influence the Latino vote for the 2016 United States presidential election.[4] The film was produced by Border Angels.[5] It was planned to be seven to ten minutes long.
The film was released on October 14, 2016. After going live on YouTube, it received over 23,000 views in the first two weeks. BorderAid Festival raised awareness for the film along with several documentaries including Living Undocumented.[6] The film screened in 2017 at the Chicago Latino Film Festival[7] and the Border Film Week at University of San Diego.[8] [9]
