Uglegorsky District (Russian: Углего́рский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion) of Sakhalin Oblast, Russia; one of the seventeen in the oblast.[2] Municipally, it is incorporated as Uglegorsky Municipal District.[3] It is located in the western central part of the Island of Sakhalin. The area of the district is 3965.6km2.[4] Its administrative center is the town of Uglegorsk. Population:
