USS Ted Stevens explained

USS Ted Stevens (DDG-128) is an guided missile destroyer of the United States Navy, the 78th overall for the class.[1] She will be named in honor of Ted Stevens who served as a U.S. Senator for Alaska for over 40 years. He was also a staunch supporter of both the Navy and the Marine Corps. Ted Stevens will be the third ship of the Flight III of the class.[2] [3]

Construction

The keel of Ted Stevens was laid in a ceremony at the Ingalls shipyards on 9 March 2022. She was launched on 15 August 2023 and christened four days later on the 19th.
