Tyler Batty (born May 2, 2000) is an American football defensive end for the BYU Cougars.
Batty attended high school at Payson. Coming out of high school, Batty decided to commit to play college football for the BYU Cougars.[2] [3]
In Batty's first three seasons in 2020, 2021, and 2022, he recorded 108 tackles with 17.5 being for a loss, nine and a half sacks, a fumble recovery, and a forced fumble.[4] In week three of the 2023 season, Batty notched nine tackles with one and a half being for a loss, a sack and a half, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery as he helped BYU beat Arkansas 38-31.[5] For his performance versus Arkansas, Batty was named the Big-12's defensive player of the week.[6] In the regular season finale versus Oklahoma State, Batty gained 36 yards on a fake punt reception.[7] Batty finished the 2023 season notching 57 tackles with nine going for a loss, five and a half sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.[8] For his performance in the 2023 season, Batty was named second team all Big-12.[9]
