Trelleborg Municipality (Trelleborgs kommun) is the southernmost municipality of Sweden, in Skåne County. Its seat is located in the city Trelleborg.

The present municipality was created in 1967 through the amalgamation of the City of Trelleborg with five rural municipalities. It consists of over thirty original local government units.

The municipality boasts 35 kilometers of predominantly sandy beach in the south, beech woods to the north, and in between one of the most fertile soils in the world.

Demographics

This is a demographic table based on Trelleborg Municipality's electoral districts in the 2022 Swedish general election sourced from SVT's election platform, in turn taken from SCB official statistics.^[1]

In total there were 46,136 residents, including 34,670 Swedish citizens of voting age.^[1] 37.3% voted for the left coalition and 61.4% for the right coalition. Indicators are in percentage points except population totals and income.

This lists the relative strength of the socialist and centre-right blocs since 1973, but parties not elected to the Riksdag are inserted as "other", including the Sweden Democrats results from 1988 to 2006, but also the Christian Democrats pre-1991 and the Greens in 1982, 1985 and 1991. Employment

Municipal work is the most common form of employment in Trelleborg, engaging over 4,000 individuals across 400 diverse roles. Additionally, the Trelleborg municipality ranks among the top ten largest employers in the Scania province.^{[16] [17]}
