Toontastic 3D is an educational mobile app developed by Google. Toontastic 3D is an interactive storytelling app where kids can draw, animate, narrate and record their own cartoons on their devices.
History
Toontastic was originally launched in January 2011[1] [2] by LaunchPad Toys. Toontastic has been developed over several years by Andy Russell and Thushan Amarasiriwardena in touch environments and was just waiting for the pad to come along. Andy is Learning sciences graduate from Stanford and Northwestern University.
In February 2015, Google acquired LaunchPad Toys, the maker of Toontastic storytelling app.[3] [4] [5]
In January 2017, Google launched its Toontastic 3D storytelling app.[6] [7] [8]
