In 2007, the media reported that Dileep was making his Hindi debut in a Hindi-Malayalam bilingual directed by Major Ravi. It also stars Rajpal Yadav in a supporting role and takes its name from an Amitabh Bachchan film of the same name. Om Puri and Baby Niranjana were reported to star in the film. The film was produced by Santhosh Damodharan and was shot in Mumbai and Pune.[3] [4] It was initially scheduled to be released on 4 July 2007 due to the success of Dileep's films released on the same date.
