Tonkinsky District (Russian: То́нкинский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Tonkinsky Municipal District.[2] It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1018.5km2. Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Tonkino. Population: 9,007 (2010 Census); The population of Tonkino accounts for 56.7% of the district's total population.
