History

Toke Station opened on 1 November 1896[2] as a station on the Bōsō Railway. On 1 September 1907, the Bōsō Railway was nationalized and became part of the Japanese Government Railways, which was transformed into the Japan National Railways (JNR) after World War II. Freight operations were discontinued on 1 October 1962. The station building was enlarged in January 1979, with the construction of the south exit. A new station building was completed in August 1986. The station became part of the JR East network upon privatization of the Japan National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987.
