, nicknamed, is an airport located 13.5NM south of Obihiro Station in Obihiro, Hokkaidō, Japan.[2]

Accidents and incidents

On May 29, 1965, a Convair 240 JA5088 landed at Obihiro Airport with the right side main landing gear retracted after it failed to lock down; no casualties.

History

The airport opened in March, 1981, initially with a 2000m (7,000feet) runway, taking over the role of the former Obihiro Airport, now Tokachi Airfield. The runway was extended to in November, 1985.[3]
