Thijs Timmermans (born 25 July 1998) is a Dutch footballer who plays for ARC. As well as the Netherlands, he has also played in Poland, Cyprus and Ireland during his professional career.[1]
He made his Eerste Divisie debut for FC Dordrecht on 7 September 2018 in a game against Telstar, as a starter.[2]
Following a season in Poland with Odra Opole and two seasons in Cyprus with PAEEK, Timmermans signed for League of Ireland Premier Division club St Patrick's Athletic on 1 July 2022.[3] He made his first appearance in European football on 21 July 2022 in a 1–1 draw with Slovenian side NŠ Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League.[4] He made his league debut for the club on 19 August 2022, scoring the opening goal in a 2–1 win away to UCD.[5] On 12 November 2023, Timmermans was part of the squad for the 2023 FAI Cup Final, as his side produced a 3–1 win over Bohemians in front of a record breaking FAI Cup Final crowd of 43,881 at the Aviva Stadium.[6] It was announced in December 2023, that he had departed the club following the end of his contract.[7] On 20 December 2023, it was announced that following ending his professional career, Timmermans would be returning to his local side ARC where he began his senior career for the 2024–25 season.[8] Before re-joining ARC, he spent the first half of 2024 playing for Ter Leede.[9]
