The Yellow Ticket or Earth in Captivity (ru|Земля в плену|Zemlya v plenu) is a 1928 Soviet silent drama film directed by Fyodor Otsep and starring Anna Sten, Ivan Koval-Samborsky and Mikhail Narokov.[1]
Retired soldier Yakov Koval returns to his village and unsuccessfully tries to support his family through peasant labor. In order to prevent their property, which has been seized due to debt, from being sold at auction, his wife Maria agrees to work in the household of the landowner Belsky for pay. Once in the city, Maria becomes not only the wet nurse for the landowner's child but also his mistress, as he seizes control of the peasants' land.
