In February 2024, it was announced that a horror thriller film titled The Woman in the Yard was in development at Universal Pictures and Blumhouse. Jaume Collet-Serra had been hired to direct and Sam Stefanak would write the screenplay, with Danielle Deadwyler cast in the lead role.[1] In April 2024, it was reported that Okwui Okpokwasili[2] and Russell Hornsby[3] had joined. In May, Peyton Jackson and Estella Kahiha joined the cast in undisclosed roles.[4]
Principal photography began on April 26, 2024.[5]
The Woman in the Yard is scheduled to be released in the United States on March 28, 2025.[6] It was previously scheduled for release on January 10, 2025, before being briefly removed from the release schedule.[7]
