The Penguin Lessons is a British-Spanish comedy-drama film, directed by Peter Cattaneo and slated for release in 2024.[1] Adapted from Tom Michell's 2016 memoir of the same title, the film stars Steve Coogan as Michell, a British teacher who takes a job in Argentina in 1976, and finds his life transformed when he rescues an orphaned penguin from the beach.[2]

The cast also includes Björn Gustafsson, David Herrero, Jonathan Pryce, Aimar Miranda, Nicanor Fernandez, Hugo Fuertes, Joaquín Lopez, Miguel Alejandro Serrano, Ramiro Blas, Florencia Nocetti, Micaela Breque, Romina Cocca, Alfonsina Carrocio, Tomás Pozzi, Vivian El Jaber, Juan M. Barreiro and Gera Maleh in supporting roles.

The film was shot in Spain in 2023.[1]

The film is slated to premiere as a gala presentation at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.[3]
