Premise
After winning a terrible war, Iceblade Sorcerer Ray White, decides to enroll in Arnold Academy, but in the guise of a commoner, causing those with higher class upbringings to look down on him. Despite this, he manages to make quick friends and must solve a conspiracy that plagues the school.
Characters
- The main protagonist. Ray is the modern-day Iceblade Sorcerer. Originally from a small village in the eastern part of the continent, he became a war orphan as he was involved in the Far East campaign. Then, after some twists and turns, he was taken in by Lydia Ainsworth. During his service in the Far East, he caused a runaway overheat in the magical realm, which he now uses his magic to pull down and fix. He is the Iceblade Sorcerer who is one of the Seven Grand Sorcerers. The reason why he enrolled to the Arnold Academy of Magical Arts was to live an ordinary life.
- Amelia Rose is the daughter of the distinguished Rose Family, one of the Three Noble Families. With her stunning appearance, featuring long crimson hair and penetrating eyes, Amelia is a captivating figure. Her school uniform, predominantly red, reflects her family's high standing. Charismatic and diligent, Amelia grapples with societal expectations as the eldest daughter of the Rose family. Despite her aristocratic lineage, she values independence and dislikes judgment based solely on her heritage. Meeting Ray prompts her to rethink her identity as a magician. In terms of magical abilities, Amelia wields Original Magic known as Butterfly Effect. This enables her to summon pink magic butterflies that can explode upon contact or at her command. Despite her magical prowess, overusing this ability can lead to overheating.
- Elisa Griffith is a charming half-elf with slightly pointed ears. Despite being initially concerned about her appearance, her perspective shifts after meeting Ray. Aspiring to become a future researcher, Elisa possesses profound insights into code theory and excels in various academic areas. Her pale blue bob-cut hair and teal eyes complement her Arnold Academy of Magical Arts uniform. In terms of relationships, she appears to have a fondness for Ray White. Elisa's abilities include proficient use of Wind Magic, showcasing her magical prowess.
- Rebecca Bradley, the eldest daughter of the prominent Bradley family, stands out as a highly skilled sorcerer and holds the prestigious title of a platinum-class sorcerer. Despite her noble status and perfect demeanor, Rebecca faces isolation from her peers. However, her life takes a turn when she is saved by Ray White, the first person to treat her as a friend. Rebecca's engagement to Evan Bernstein, orchestrated by her father, unravels as dark secrets emerge, revealing Evan's ties to the Eugenics. With a gentle and kind personality, Rebecca finds solace in the Horticulture Club and, later, a blossoming romantic connection with Ray.
- Claris Cleveland is another lovely character in "Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai o Suberu." With long blonde hair styled in twin ponytails held by pink ribbons, she dons the Arnold Academy of Magical Arts uniform. Claris is a good-hearted and kind girl who sees the extraordinary in Ray despite societal prejudices. Despite her comical tsundere demeanor, she quickly befriends Ray, showcasing her friendly and nice nature. Her love for bugs, seen as peculiar by others, becomes a unique aspect of her character. Claris possesses Lightning Magic abilities, adding an intriguing element to her role in the story.
- Ariane Algren, also known as Olgren, is a captivating character in the enchanting world of "Hyouken no Majutsushi ga Sekai o Suberu." At the tender age of 15, Ariane possesses a charm accentuated by her smoky blonde hair and mesmerizing blue eyes. As a student at Diom Academy of Magical Arts, she not only showcases proficiency in lightning techniques but also displays remarkable martial arts skills, as observed during her tournament training. Her close bond with childhood friend Amelia Rose adds depth to her character. With a love interest in Ray White and a younger sister named Tiana Algren, Ariane navigates the magical realm with both grace and strength. Voiced by Akira Sekine in Japanese and Marianne Bray in English, Ariane brings an endearing presence to the story.
- Lydia Ainsworth is a central character in "Hyouken no Majusushi ga Sekai o Suneru." Serving as the mentor and adoptive mother of Ray White, she was the former Iceblade Sorcerer until discharged due to her injured legs. Lydia, with long blonde hair and blue eyes, wears a brown throw-over, a white dress shirt, a navy blue skirt, and brown flats. Possessing abilities akin to Ray, she shares a deep bond with him, having found and raised him as a war orphan. Best friends with Abbie Garnet, Lydia trusts her immensely. Despite her dislike for Carol Caroline's energetic nature, Lydia considers her family. Additionally, Carla Hale takes care of Lydia while she is in a wheelchair.
- Abbie Garnet holds the position of headmaster at the Arnold Academy of Magical Arts and is among the distinguished Seven Grand Sorcerers. With her charming appearance, featuring long orange hair tied in a ponytail and captivating golden eyes, Abbie is a human proficient in Fire Magic. Her predominantly white uniform, paired with brown boots, complements her distinctive style. Despite her magical prowess, Abbie's personal history reveals a poignant aspect, as she mourns the loss of her boyfriend and fellow military colleague, Howard Kennett, who acts as Ray's father figure. Alive and dedicated to her role, Abbie adds a touch of elegance to the magical realm as a skilled sorceress and compassionate leader.
- Carol Caroline is a prominent character in "Hyouken no Majusushi ga Sekai o Suberu." As one of the Seven Grand Sorcerers, she holds a reputation for her expertise in magical research. With long pink hair, distinctive blue heart-shaped eyes, and a stylish outfit featuring a black jacket with red frills, she replaced the previous teacher, Helena Grady, at Arnold Academy of Magical Arts. Carol shares a significant history with figures like Ray White and Lydia Ainsworth, having served in a special unit during a Waring period. Notably, she is shown performing at the arena in episode 7, and the anime's ending theme is sung by her voice actress, Maaya Uchida. Carol's character adds a touch of charm to the magical world, and her role as a teacher at the academy reflects her standing as one of the Seven Grand Sorcerers.
- Evi Armstrong is the roommate, friend and self-proclaimed bosom buddy of Ray White. With short brown hair, navy blue eyes, and a muscular physique from regular exercise, Evi wears the Arnold Academy of Magical Arts uniform. While he hasn't displayed any magical abilities, his exceptional physical strength is evident as he defeats monsters with pure strength. Evi's passion for muscle training aligns with his love for Ray, and they share a room in the dorm. He focuses on upper body training, particularly concerned about the cut of his pectoral muscles. Evi aspires to become a hunter in the future, reflecting his dedication to physical prowess.
