The Cherry Orchard is a 1973 Australian TV adaptation of the 1904 play by Anton Chekhov.[3] [4]
Googie Withers appeared in the play for the Melbourne Theatre Company in 1972 directed by John Sumner. The play was also toured throughout Australia in 1973.[1]
It was the second time a Melbourne Theatre Company production had been filmed by the ABC, the previous one being The Man Who Shot the Albatross in 1972.[5]
