Tema (son of Ishmael) explained

Tema, was according to the Bible^{[1] [2]} the ninth son of Ishmael^{[3] [4]} The name Tema or Te'ma or Tema' (תֵּימָא or תֵּמָא] means the South. The name is rendered Greek, Modern (1453-);: {{lang|grc|Θαιμάν and Thema in Latin,^[5]

The name also applied to the name of the tribe that were descended from him and the district they lived in.^[6]
