Tangata townsendi is a species of Orsolobidae. The species is endemic to New Zealand.[1]
This species was described in 1985 by Ray Forster and Norman Platnick from a female specimen collected in Marlborough. The holotype is stored in the New Zealand Arthropod Collection under registration number NZAC03015008.[2]
The female is recorded at 2.44mm in length. The abdomen is patterned dorsally.
This species is only known from Mount Stokes in Marlborough, New Zealand.
Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size", "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[3]
