Tangata parafurcata is a species of Orsolobidae. The species is endemic to New Zealand.[1]
This species was described in 1985 by Ray Forster and Norman Platnick from a male specimen collected in Southland. The holotype is stored in Otago Museum.
The male is recorded at 2.28mm in length. The carapace and abdomen are patterned dorsally.
This species is only known from Tuatpaere in Southland, New Zealand.
Under the New Zealand Threat Classification System, this species is listed as "Data Deficient" with the qualifiers of "Data Poor: Size" and "Data Poor: Trend" and "One Location".[2]
