Tai Po Tsat Yeuk Explained

Tai Po Tsat Yeuk was an inter-village alliance (yeuk) in today's Hong Kong.^[1] It collectively comprised 64 villages.^[2]

History

The alliance established Tai Wo Market in 1892 in order to break the monopoly of the old Tai Po Market founded by the Tang Clan of Lung Yeuk Tau .^[1]

The seven constituents of the alliance were:

• Lam Tsuen Yeuk
• Hop Wo Yeuk
• Jap Wo Yeuk
• Ting Kok Yeuk
• Cheung Shue Yeuk
• Fanling Yeuk
