Szalmia is a settlement in the administrative district of Gmina Płoskinia, within Braniewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 6km (04miles) north-west of Płoskinia, 110NaN0 south of Braniewo, and 700NaN0 north-west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
Before 1772 the area was part of Kingdom of Poland, and in 1772–1945 it belonged to Prussia and Germany (East Prussia).
