You can enjoy the fresh air and ducks in Stonydelph Lakes and play around in the Play Areas, Unfortunately, It can be pretty dangerous as theres multiple reasons:
ASB (Anti-Social Behavior)
Anti-Social Behavior is any crimes which disturb the public, like shouting at people, graffiti, messing around with people, or basically disturbing the public. This is a massive problem in Stonydelph as many groups of people (Mainly Teenagers) hang around these parks and make other people's walks unpleasant.
Vandalism
Vandalism is another main issue in Stonydelph. Many reports come from Stonydelph at rocks being thrown over fences, damaged bus stops, Throwing Branches at cars, kicking fences (Sometimes breaking them), smashed windows, ripping bins out of the ground, and other various types of vandalism
ArsonArson is a minor issue but still occurs in Stonydelph. Two most notable examples are Rainscar Play Area and Deltic Field (Part of Stonydelph Lakes). Around June of 2024, Some unknown people set fire to bin lids on Rainscar playground. They destroyed a little den made by kids and burnt the materials which is very dangerous and rude to the kids who spent their time making the den. Near Deltic Field, around August 2020, some unknown kids poured Petrol on the grass and attempted to light it on fire, which is extremely Dangerous, they succeeded in lighting the petrol on fire and to this day aren't caught. One of the residents have got pictures of the offenders.
Illegal drug use/dealing
Drugs are another main issue of Stonydelph, Many incidents have been reported of Youths vaping under underpasses, smoking weed, and (rarely) selling weed to other people. In Ribblesdale, (In Renishaw Court) Teenagers usually smoke weed as reported by a resident on Facebook. Underpasses are the hotspots for drug use.
Illegal Motorbike Use
Illegal motorbike use is a minor issue but occasionally happens. Mainly in stonydelph Lakes, where sometimes Criminals drive stolen motorbikes from Belgrave/Wilnecote on the paths not even stopping for children. This also happens outside Ellerbeck Centre. This annoys people as people on the motorbikes usually shout slurs to residents walking in the park.
Other Various crimes
Car robbing (Common), Sexual Assault (Uncommon), Gang Violence (Somewhat common), gunfire (Rare), Kidnapping (somewhat common)
