Stare Czarnowo (de|Neumark)[2] is a village in Gryfino County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Stare Czarnowo.[3] It lies approximately 21km (13miles) east of Gryfino and 200NaN0 south-east of the regional capital Szczecin.
Stare Czarnowo's main historic landmark it the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, which dates back to the 16th century.
The area became part of the emerging Polish state under its first historic ruler Mieszko I around 967.[4] Following the fragmentation of Poland, it formed part of the Duchy of Pomerania. From the 18th century, it formed part of Prussia, and from 1871 to 1945 it was also part of Germany.
