The Sri Lanka women's cricket team toured England in August and September 2023 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches.[1] [2] The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced the dates of this series in September 2022,[3] before revising the fixtures in May 2023 after women's cricket in the 2022 Asian Games was confirmed.[4] The ODI series formed part of the 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship tournament.[5] The T20I series formed part of Sri Lanka's preparation for the Asian Games.[6]
England won the rain-affected first match of the T20I series by 12 runs via the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method.[7] Sri Lanka won the second T20I by 8 wickets,[8] which was their first win over England in the format.[9] Sri Lanka later registered their maiden series victory over England,[10] as they defeated England by 7 wickets in the third and final T20I.[11]
In the first match of the ODI series, England defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets.[12] The second ODI saw a delayed start because of rain, and was eventually abandoned after 30.5 overs of play in the first innings with Sri Lanka struggling at 106/9.[13] England won the third ODI by 161 runs to take the series 2–0.[14]
Another match between the two teams on the same day was called off before the scheduled start of play.[20]
