Subspecies
Two subspecies are recognized as being valid, including the nominotypical subspecies.
- S. s. sulphureus
- S. s. dieperinkii
Nota bene
A trinomial authority in parentheses indicates that the subspecies was original described in a genus other than Spilotes.
